The Bulkley Valley Amateur Radio Society was among the four local groups to receive money through a Provincial gaming grant.
The group was given $7000, spokesperson Doug Steventon says the grant will help fund a number of things.
“Put in one more hilltop repeater, the second thing is to hopefully get our high-speed data link at least as far as Houston this year.”
Funding will also replace batteries and install a basic station in Burns Lake.
This is the fourth year that group received a grant.
