A local rugby player is taking her talents to the international stage Tuesday.

Houston Secondary student Denae Grange is off to Nevada for the Las Vegas Invitational, which claims to “the largest rugby tournament in North America.”

Playing Wing for BC’s “Elite Girl’s 7s – U18” team, Grange says it means a lot to represent the Province.

“I’ve put so much effort to do this and I’ve had people to look up to who have also done this. Playing with girls that I’ve played against in Provincials, it’s just all crazy,” she says.

As the sole player from the North, Grange hopes to learn different warm ups and plays to bring back to her HSS team.

This is the first time the team will play in an international tournament, which begins Thursday.
