Houston Council will keep exploring ways to keep local energy green.
The District has been using a geothermal system to heat the local pool and arena.
On Tuesday, it decided to spend $4000 for the project’s final report.
Mayor Shane Brienen says Council will keep looking for funding from here.
“There’s some grants coming up again for geothermal projects, Council will discuss at that time what it looks like and we’ll look at some of the funding,” he says.
Council has been using geothermal to heat the facilities for about a year.
