The Steelheads are hoping their winning ways continue at the Coy Cup.

The annual tournament pits three BC Senior “AA” league winners, and a host city, against one another to decide a provincial champion.

Despite a few weeks off since winning the league championship, Coach Tom DeVries says the team is still in top form.

“We’re playing new teams so the so the excitement of playing the game will be there, so no, ‘rusty’ won’t be a problem at all,” he says.

Smithers will kick off play Tuesday in Terrace against Whitehorse (4 PM). Smithers plays Fort. St. John Wednesday (4 PM) and host Terrace (7 PM) on Thursday.

Teams in 2nd and 3rd place will play in the semi-finals Friday night at 7 PM. That winner will play the top-seeded team (who received a bye to the finals) in the championship game Saturday at 7 PM.
