Lodge to offer viewing of The Last Ship premier

Anyone wanting to watch the premier of The Last Ship is welcome at the Hudson Bay Lodge this Sunday evening.

Tourism Smithers and the Chamber of Commerce is hosting the premier of the television show which was partly filmed on Hudson Bay Mountain.

Here’s chamber manager, Heather Gallagher,

“Anybody who wants to come down, a lot of us don’t get those stations at home and we thought just in keeping with the fact that we have always been able to host the premiers, wouldn’t it be fun to gather around and celebrate it Smithers Style.”

The Fireside Lounge will be airing the show on its TV’s.

Smithers mayor Taylor Bachrach says it’ll be great to see the scenes that were filmed on the mountain.

“It looks like a pretty neat plot line. Lots of action and stuff that doesn’t usually happen up on the prairie like snowmobile chases and helicopters and things blowing up.”

Residents have previously gathered to watch Eight Below and The Grey which were both shot in the area.

The viewing party starts at 6 pm on Sunday.
