BC is now number one when it comes to the lowest unemployment rate in Canada.
Stats Canada, Labour Division Analyst, Vince Ferrao says it’s been 40 years since the province claimed this honour.
“The unemployment rate for the month of April was 5.8% that is the lowest of all provinces and is the first time we have seen this since 1976 by having the lowest jobless rate.”
The national jobless rate was 7.1% in April.
