A wildfire burning west of Terrace is being fought by 15 fire fighters and one helicopter. After starting Thursday afternoon, the blaze has grown to 6 hectares in size.
“It has grown 2 hectares since we were on site yesterday,” says Northwest Wildfire Information Officer Haley Williams.
Williams says the cause of the blaze will be under investigation.
She’s reminding people to be diligent with their fires with an early start to the fire season.
“We have some great weather over the weekend and some wind. So everyone needs to be careful with burning and be aware of the wind speed and direction.”
