Pacific Northwest LNG says global markets are a deciding factor for their proposed facility that will see natural gas exported globally.
Spokesperson Tessa Gill, head of corporate stakeholder relations, was in Smithers today presenting the situation with global markets.
“At the end of the day it’s up to the partners to review their final decision and go through with it,” says Gill. She spoke of the gap in investment that’s been created with the oil recession and an unsteady market.
The project also hinges on approval from the federal government.
They expect to create 300 long term jobs and 300 spin-off jobs that could glean some local suppliers her in Smithers and the Bulkley Valley.
