The Canadian flag for the town of Smithers isn’t going to be lowered for the death of every politician across the country
Council decided this week to stop lowering the flag when members of parliament across the country, and MLA’s across the province, die.
“There are significant people locally we’ve lowered the flag for. former Mayor Davidson comes to mind. But this gives us direction on who we would lower the flag for,” says Mayor Taylor Bachrach.
That includes the premier, the local MLA and MP.
