Forest Protection Office enters 21st century

The Forest Protection Office has a better idea of what the area looks like.

They have recently completed bringing its mapping processes into the 21st century by putting it all on computers.

Vanderhoof/Fort St. James Forest Protection Officer Mike Pritchard says they used to use wall maps to do their jobs.

He says all the same information is with the forester.

He says it will give them a better idea of how to deal with forests that have been damaged by the mountain pine beetle.
