Just how diverse Northern BC is from an agriculture standpoint is being looked at by a UNBC graduate student.
Serena Black says she started to look at how barley can handle water stress in a northern climate.
She says once she started doing her research with the Northern Agriculture Research Initiative, she found the region is immensely diverse.
Black says there are issues that connect the region, but every area has its own interests that producers are trying to deal with.
She says they plan on working with producers to find out how best to tackle agricultural issues in Northern BC.
