Province Shells out $25 million for schools, giving $27,000 to School District 87

The province has announced 25 million dollars that will be spent across school districts – giving about 27 thousand dollars to Stikine School District 87.

Stikine MLA Doug Donaldson says it’s been a chaotic approach.

“You take away with one hand and cause all this chaos and people getting in an uproar. And then, on the other hand, you give a little back to try and dull down the negative reaction,” says Donaldson.

The money is a part of the province’s administrative savings.

Vancouver will be getting 2.2 million with Surrey receiving 3.1 million

The province also says all 60 districts will receive some funds.
