Environment Canada says summer is on its way, bringing with it a high ridge of pressure in the Bulkley Valley.
The weekend is expected to be a full 6-7 degrees higher than normal up into the high 20s, and continuing throughout next week.
Meteorologist Matt MacDonald says El Nino has been warming us up in the Valley.
“You can’t ignore all that warm water on that coast.”
The first half of the summer is expected to be above normal temperatures and that El Nino heat should level out with more normal temperatures by late August.
In the Valley for May, it was 1.5 degrees above normal, with a quarter the usual rainfall.
