The Houston Farmers Market will be changing operators if council finalizes it tomorrow night
The Healthy Options for People and the Earth Society have stepped down in running the market, with Houston Link to Learning set to take it over
Manager Marion Ells says it will run the same way as it always has at Steelhead Park
“We were wanting to see the Farmers Market continue. And, it particular, the farmers market nutrition coupon program – that’s been really important to a lot of the residents here.”
The Market will also stay a part of the BC Association of Farmers Markets.
Ells also hopes they’ll be able to fill a bit of the food need in the area after the closing of Supervalu later in the month
