It will be easier to access emergency information with the RBDN’s new social media presence

Relaying information to the public in the event of a natural disaster or emergency is something the Regional District of Bulkley and Nechako will do through social media

They’ve started a Facebook page named ‘Bulkley-Nechako Emergency Information.’

Chairperson Bill Miller says it will connect people in the entire region to information from protective services.

“There’ll definitely be links to our website and to other websites that hold information…a good (example) is in a wildfire event,” says Miller. “We’re looking to cover as many bases as we can to get information out when we’re in crisis.”

They’ll roll out their Twitter and other social media platforms after they get more followers on Facebook.
