Residential Recycling won’t be collected by the District of Houston.
The service would have cost Houston 27 thousand over a six month period. Council wants to use that time instead to collect public feedback.
The whole idea stems from the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako’s ban on corrugated cardboard in the landfill – a move that will force residents across the region to recycle.
The region will still accept other types of non-corrugated cardboard for the landfill
Houston will be distributing pamphlets ahead of the regional district’s changes on July 1st.
