The town of Smithers is going to try their hand at writing grant proposals rather than outsourcing.
it would cost 3 thousand dollars to have a proposal written for a 10 thousand dollar grant to create an asset management plan.
Mayor Taylor Bachrach says the town should give it their best shot.
“Council essential decided that it was going to be better to take a shot at writing the grant proposal ourselves given the fact that it’s a smaller grant,” says Bachrach.
Smithers was previously denied a 100 thousand dollar grant that cost 7 thousand dollars to have outsourced by the company Opus Dayton and Knight
Bachrach doesn’t think leaving the company out of the deal will hurt their relationship given the circumstances.
