Expect Main Street in Smithers this Saturday to be shut down to all vehicle traffic.
The Main Street Festival will see downtown flooded with foot traffic, shopping, street vendors, games, and music.
Chair of the Smithers Main Street Merchants Association Corina Brewer organizes the annual event.
“We guess 3000 people will put foot traffic down Main Street during that day with additional people. So that’s great exposure for business’,but it’s not just about that. It’s about thanking the community for supporting us,” says Brewer. “It’s such an amazing sense of community in Smithers and I tell people all the time it’s the people of Smithers that make it what it is; it’s a little jewel in the north.”
There will be over 16 local vendors on Main Street for the festival tomorrow.
