Making sure new projects in the Town of Smithers are built with the highest concern for greenhouse gas emissions was a big discussion at council last night.
Mayor Taylor Bachrach wants to make sure the modernization project at the airport will follow council’s objectives for greenhouse gas emissions.
“we have some goals around how our community uses energy. and we want to make sure the airport project is consistent with that,” says Bachrach.
The airport manager assured that plans for the modernization project at the airport hare aimed at cutting emissions to zero.
Victoria Based Architecture was awarded their part of the project costing 546 thousand dollars.
