Government officials from across the regional district of Bulkley-Nechako will hold a community to community forum today in Smithers
They’ll be discussing the highway 16 transit proposal following as well as the provincial government’s spill response standards.
Smithers Mayor Taylor Bachrach says it’s done to build stronger relationships.
“We have a sense of our own communities and what will work well for our residents, but really we want this to serve the entire region. So, hearing from leaders of First Nations communities is key to making it successful,” says Bachrach.
The province in June announced a five million dollar action plan for transit along the highway of tears up from the previously announced 3 million.
