Average house prices in Smithers are in a bit of a lull

Average house prices have taken a dip in Smithers according to the BC Northern Real Estate Board.

Residential detached house prices fell from 271 thousand dollars last year to 232 thousand this year.

That’s also 12 less sales and currently 13 less listings than last year.

Smithers Director of the BC Northern Real Estate Board compares the volume of sales over last year.

“Prices always seem to be between 350 and 270. We might be in a lull now, but things should pick up.”

Mio says Hazelton and TElkwa seeing more action could lower the average prices in Smithers.

Burns Lake also saw 12 less properties sold this year, and in Houston 2 less.
