The Smithers alpine theme bylaw is up for final adoption tonight, possibly putting an end to a years work fine-tuning the rules for business signs in the downtown.
Council is expected to hear from a local sign maker about some of the rules they argue will hurt their business.
And changes to parking in the downtown will be recommended by the small business task force – they’re looking for council to utilize a town owned parking lot, using some of the the 246 thousand dollars in the parking reserve fund.
Council will also look at spending a little over 26 thousand dollars for a flight tested landing system that hasn’t been budgeted – the money will come from the airport surplus.
