Soup Kitchen opens its doors in Burns Lake

With colder weather on the way, a soup kitchen will be opening its doors this weekend to warm people up with some free hot food in Burns Lake.

Pastor John Rankin says they’re running it off of donations.

“We just started it up this year in May, and had to shut it down this summer. But we’re hoping to do it continuously next year,” says Rankin.

“Everyone of course is welcome, but there is a special need. We get about 50 people or so out for lunch and that number is expected to increase.”

It will be at the Vineyard Church this Saturday from noon to 2 on highway 16 beside the thrift store.

They hope to keep it going monthly.
