Smithers, Burns Lake and Houston athletes are all bringing home medals from the weekend’s B.C. Summer games in Nanaimo.
From Smithers, Luke Beraducci won gold in the Boys 100 meter butterfly swim
Houston wrestlers Leilah Wiebe and Rebecca Ells brought home silver and bronze respectively in wrestling for the Girls 90 kg.
And two paddlers from Burns Lake, Braden Puglas and Nisa Hofer won silver and bronze respectively in the 2000 meter canoeing/kayaking event.
In total, 14 medals from the Northwest were won at the Games.
