A brief statement this morning from the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources on the current situation with the Gitxsan eviction notice and the upcoming sport fishing season.
In an email the Ministry of Forests Lands and Natural Resources says it is concerned about the eviction deadline.
The Ministry’s Mel Kotyk says they are monitoring the situation.
“All I can suggest is that people take a respectful attitude for the Gitxsan for their land and their territory and we will just have to see what happens on the 4th.”
The Ministry says it is working with the Gitxsan in an attempt to resolve their concerns.
