An air quality advisory is in effect for Smithers and Houston with restrictions on the use of wood stoves and open burning.
The Ministry of the Environment says only homes with a wood stove as their primary source of heat can burn wood.

The ministry is expected to give an update today with the advisory in effect until further notice.
