Campaign started for cardiac stress testing equipment

Bulkley Valley Health Care and Hospital Foundation is raising money for cardiac stress testing equipment.

Foundation Chair Ted Bob says this specialized test is a prerequisite for some surgeries and currently unavailable in the valley.

“At the present time, there can be four or six month waiting time at some of these other facilities because it isn’t something they do every day because of the training of the nurses, and doctors and people that administer it and interpret it,” he says.

The equipment and training will cost $80,000.

A resident has agreed to match the donations dollar for dollar, meaning the foundation only needs to raise half the cost.
