Fire at pellet plant in Burns Lake

There has been an explosion and a small fire at the pellet plant in Burns Lake.
RCMP say three people received serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Pinnacle president and COO Leroy Reitsma says there was a blaze started at eight o clock this morning in the drying system.
“It happened inside the process equipment,” he says. “At the time, we were in a maintenance shutdown.”
Reitsma says the fire was put out quickly and there is no damage to any equipment.
At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown

Only access to the mill has been affected at this time and all local roads remain open.
Worksafe BC has sent investigators to the site.
