Smithers and the Bulkley Valley could look like a giant puddle over the next couple days.
Environment Canada issued a Special Weather Statement for the area, which could see up to 50 millimetres of rain by the end of Friday.
“It’s really critical as to where these thunderstorms sort of spread out into an area of rain as we are expecting a band of rainfall across to the north central interior. It looks like the Smithers area is going to be the more targeted area,” says Allan Coldwells, Meteorologist.
Thunder showers with 20 to 30 millimetres of rain is predicted for tonight with another 15 expected to fall on Friday.
Things should clear up by Saturday with cloudy skies and a high of 20 degrees.
The sunshine could return on Sunday with a predicted high of 22 degrees.
