Flooding possible on the Skeena and Bulkley rivers with a Flood Watch in effect

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako says there’s a potential for flooding on the Bulkley and Skeena rivers after the River Forecast Centre has issued a flood watch.

The centre says river levels are rising and could exceed bankfull with the possibility of flooding in adjacent rivers.

The regional district is requesting the public refrain from recreation along the river and connecting streams.

Heavy rain has been falling across the region since Thursday afternoon. Rainfall totals observed so far have been in the 15-45 mm range through the Skeena and Bulkley.
