The Smithers RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding those responsible for all the recent break and enters.
Cpl Dave Tyreman says it appears most break-ins are occurring during the day.
“The individual, or individuals, we believe are walking up to the door, knocking and if someone answers they’ll provide a false name, ‘is Joe there?’ ‘Nope– no Joe here’, so they’ll leave. But if no one answers, they’ll target that home and go in,” he says.
Police are reminding both rural and town residents to lock their windows and doors when not at home.
