Smithers council meets tonight.
The evening starts with a presentation from the Smithers Secondary School curling team. They have just won the high school provincials.
Also on the agenda, staff will recommend denying a development variance permit for a building on Columbia Street. The property owner is doing some renos and would like the town to remove the requirements to construct curb, gutters and sidewalks.
Council is expected to award the contract to upgrade the crawlspace at the central park building tonight. Only one bid was submitted so it will likely go to that contractor.
