Houston is commissioning the water treatment plan.
This means homes may experience dirty water in their lines. Resident Jamie Morris says the district told him it was safe to drink but he says its deplorable.
“I don’t even like showering in it,” he says. “I ran my shower for an hour and there is silt in the bottom of the shower. We aren’t talking about just discoloured water here, there is actually silt in it. I wouldn’t even give it to my dog.”
Morris says it’s also frustrating there was such short notice.
The district has already begun the process and will continue until May 11th.
Calls to the district have not yet been returned.
