A gas leak closed Highway 16 in Smithers late this morning (Thursday) between Anderson Road to Manitoba Street.
Pacific North Gas said that the cause was from a third party contractor after the gas line was hit.
It added that the leak was under control within an hour.
As of noon, the road had been reopened and emergency crews were cleaning up the area.
