Tete Jaune Cache to Alberta Border added to Extreme Cold Warning

A section of the Yellowhead Highway has been added to the Extreme Cold Warning issued by Environment Canada.

Tete Jaune Cache to the Alberta border is now included in the advisory.

Other areas impacted by the warning are Prince George, Stuart-Nechako, The Lakes District, McGregor, and Williston.

An arctic airmass over northern B.C. will bring temperatures between near minus 30 and minus 40 degrees Celsius.

These temperatures combined with northerly winds up to 20 km/h will generate cold wind chill values of minus 40 to minus 45.

The cold wind chill is forecast to last until Saturday morning when temperatures begin to moderate.
