Houston Chamber announce the 2024 Community Excellence Award winners

Eight awards were given out on Saturday as the Houston District Chamber of Commerce held their annual Community Excellence Awards. 

“The Community Excellence Awards Gala represents a celebration of our community members’ tireless dedication and remarkable achievements,” said Amber Oevering, Chair of the Houston & District Chamber of Commerce. 

“It is truly inspiring to witness the positive impact these individuals and businesses have on the growth and prosperity of Houston.” 

The winners for 2024 were: 

  • Business of the Year: Mike’s Audio Video Ltd. 
  • New Business of the Year: The Palisade Café 
  • Home-Based Business of the Year: Your Journey Captured 
  • Customer Service – Business Award: Bulkley River Veterinary Services Ltd. 
  • Customer Service – Employee Award: Deidre Burke – Northwest Fuels Limited 
  • Community Builder Award: Sullivan Motor Products Ltd. 
  • Citizen/Volunteer of the Year: Chelsey Kettle 
  • Rising Up for Youth: Alonzo Slaney 

In total, 58 business and citizen nominations were considered between the categories.
