Eight awards were given out on Saturday as the Houston District Chamber of Commerce held their annual Community Excellence Awards.
“The Community Excellence Awards Gala represents a celebration of our community members’ tireless dedication and remarkable achievements,” said Amber Oevering, Chair of the Houston & District Chamber of Commerce.
“It is truly inspiring to witness the positive impact these individuals and businesses have on the growth and prosperity of Houston.”
The winners for 2024 were:
- Business of the Year: Mike’s Audio Video Ltd.
- New Business of the Year: The Palisade Café
- Home-Based Business of the Year: Your Journey Captured
- Customer Service – Business Award: Bulkley River Veterinary Services Ltd.
- Customer Service – Employee Award: Deidre Burke – Northwest Fuels Limited
- Community Builder Award: Sullivan Motor Products Ltd.
- Citizen/Volunteer of the Year: Chelsey Kettle
- Rising Up for Youth: Alonzo Slaney
In total, 58 business and citizen nominations were considered between the categories.
