The second of eight re-use shed public gatherings will be happening this evening in Houston.
The RDBN had great support from their first meeting Tuesday night in Telkwa.
Some residents shared their ideas to improve the swap sheds, suggesting things like part-time employees, district-wide membership fees, and security. Others said visitors should enter with caution, nothing there will always be liabilities at landfill sites.
Smithers / Telkwa RDBN director Mark Fisher says staff will take all suggestions and decide on the future of the sheds.
“It could potentially mean to stick with the original decision to close them and ban salvaging. I, personally, am optimistic that we can come up with some creative ideas on how to get things back to how they were,” he says.
Tonight’s public idea session will be at the Houston Seniors Activity Center at 6 PM.
