Three projects in the Bulkley Valley are receiving funding through the province’s Vision Zero project.
The project was started three years ago with the hope of improving road safety through funding local initiatives.
For Houston, the $20,000 grant will go towards holding a pedestrian safety study to identify hazards needing improvement, construction, or revitalization.
The same amount is going to the Kispiox Band to offer Driver Training from a local school and hire a team to clear roadside trees.
A new one kilometre lit walking trail will be installed along with signage in the Gitxsan language in Glen Vowell as the band is also receiving $20,000.
Eight projects in Northern Health are receiving funding, with the province having given more than $866,000 since the project started.
