In-town businesses will see first-hand a new initiative aimed at improving the local economy.
The Smithers Chamber of Commerce is organising the first ever “Business Walk.” Many organisations, elected officials, and community members will spend an afternoon visiting local workplaces.
Workers will be asked a short list of questions to help walkers better understand the strengths and hardships of local businesses.
Chamber Manager Heather Gallagher says this walk has been very beneficial to businesses in Southern communities.
“The information gathered really does provide all the service groups that work with businesses and the elected officials in developing programs that may help and add to those services,” she says.
The walk will take place in Smithers and Telkwa October 21st from 1 PM – 4 PM.
