The Village of Telkwa is looking for volunteers to help with the local outdoor rinks this winter.
Local residents have maintained the two outdoor rinks for years, including all the needed flooding, ice care, and general maintenance.
Mayor Darcy Repen knows the residents will be able to handle the cold this winter.
“Really that rink in the winter time is our biggest recreation facility in town and then there’s the secondary rink up at Woodland park as well that gets good use, so you bet, people come out,” he says, “we’re hardy Northerners and we love our outdoor rinks.”
A meeting will be held at Council Chambers on Thursday, October 22nd for anyone interested in volunteering. Doors open at 7 PM.
