Funding is on its way to two active transportation projects in the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District.
This year, $24 million is going to 80 projects across the province.
Included in the list is the Cycle 16 trail between Smithers and Telkwa.
“The advocacy of Cycle 16 and the outpouring of support from so many people across the Bulkley Valley has made this happen,” said Stikine MLA Nathan Cullen.
Phase one of the project is already complete, running from Smithers east to Babine Lake Road, following Highway 16.
A new multi-use pathway along Highway 35 is also on the list, which will run to Tchesinkut Lake.
This is part of an $85 million investment from the province into active transportation.
