Doggy Fashion Show raised $1700 for new park

Sunday’s “Doggy Fashion Show” raised a chunk of change for the proposed dog park.

The dressed-up dogs strut their way to 1700-dollars for the off-leash project, which hopes to be started by next spring.

Spokesperson Jessie Taggart says the event was a success and all the contestants, and owners behaved.

“People have misconceptions about groups of dogs a lot of times, that there is fighting or too much barking or whatever, but we had more than 20 dogs there and there was no barking or fighting and everyone was happy to see each other,” she says.

Taggart adds the BarkPark Society will have more fashion shows and a dog calendar to continue raising funds.

There is also a bottle drive going on at the bottle depot.
