The Bulkley Valley museum will be holding a cemetery walk this Halloween.
The walk will include a history of the cemetery and stops at headstones that are around 100 years ago.
Even though the walk will take place on the scariest days of the year, Curator Kira Westby says the walk aims to advise rather than surprise.
“Smithers cemetery is not very old, as Smithers is not very old, so we didn’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable visiting a cemetery where they may have family membres buried or they may be descendants of some of these earlier people,” she says.
The rain or shine walk will take place at 1 PM on Saturday at the Smithers Municipal cemetery. The walk is free, but donations to the museum are encouraged.
