BC Hydro is planning to turn off power for 10,500 customers on Sunday
(September 15th) between 7:00 and 5:00.
This will affect several communities along Highway 16, including:
- Carnaby
- Cedarvale
- Gitanmaax
- Gitanyow
- Gitsegukla
- Glen Vowell
- Hagwilget
- Hazelton
- New Hazelton
- South Hazeltown
- Smithers
- Kispiox
- Kitwancool
- Kitwanga
- Moricetown
- Telkwa
- Sik E Dakh
- Two Mile
This is so crews can move an existing 138 kilovolt transmission line near Telkwa in preparation of a new capacitor station, part of the Prince George to Terrace Capacitors Stations Project.
