Members of both Smithers and Telkwa Council spoke with BC Transit spokespeople Friday to discuss bettering public transit between the two destinations.
Many things were discussed including additional buses, extended hours, and different route times.
Mayor Taylor Bachrach says there will be many conversations to improve transit.
“One of the things that we hear is that the current service might not exactly match the hours that most people working in Smithers are working,” he says, “so if there are opportunities to tweak things down the road we are certainly interested in that.”
Smithers Council members unanimously agreed on bus deals for families and simplified zone costs.
These will take effect in spring.
