Even though Christmas is over two months away, a new survey suggests many BC residents will dig deep into their pockets to buy those holiday gifts.
According to PWC Canada, BC residents are anticipated to spend $2,126 this holiday season – trailing only the Prairies who are expected to dish out $2,188.
The survey notes Millennial and Gen Z consumers plan to spend the most money.
Gen Z consumers are expected to start their holiday shopping earlier between the Thanksgiving and Black Friday weekends.
Canadian consumers plan to spend an average of $1,853 on gifts, travel and entertainment this holiday season, a 13% increase over last year.
