Steelheads come up short in their home opener

The Smithers Steelheads dropped their two home games on the long weekend
in the Central Interior Hockey League. 

On Saturday, they lost 9-5 to the Quesnel Kangaroos. 

Jeremy Chadsey, Kodi Schwarz, Ian Chrystal, Ethan Perry, and Dawson Schwarz tallied for Smithers. 

On Sunday, the Williams Lake Stampeders outscored the Steelheads 5-2. 

Noah Tokarchuk and Perry each scored a goal for Smithers against the Stampeders. 

In Hazelton, the Wolverines split a pair; they beat the Stampeders 7-6 on Saturday in overtime but lost 4-3 to the Kangaroos on Sunday. 

This Saturday (Oct 19th), the Steelheads travel to Hazelton to face the Wolverines.
