A new survey is being hosted by the Town of Smithers around the new Ranger Park childcare facility project.
The main question being asked is what location at Ranger Park residents would rather the building be built.
“Right now, we’re looking for community feedback on the two options. There’s one off Princess Street and one off 16th Avenue,” said Communication and Engagement Officer Sam LeBlanc.
The town has applied to the Childcare BC New Spaces fund to cover the costs of construction.
When complete, the YMCA of Northern BC will operate in the space.
“I think there is a lot of positive feedback for initiatives like this in town. There is some concern for residents in the area for how this is going to impact them,” said LeBlanc.
Along with hosting the survey on their website, an open house to submit feedback is being held today (Thursday) at town hall.
The first session starts at noon while the other starts at 5:00 tonight.
