Bulkley Valley and Lakes District homeowners can expect to see their 2025 assessment notices in the next few days.
According to BC Assessment, the typical value of single-family homes went up:
- Burns Lake: up 19 per cent to $265,000
- Granisle: up one per cent to $102,000
- Hazelton: up five per cent to $268,000
- Houston: up less than a per cent to $262,000
- New Hazelton: up five per cent to $223,000
- Smithers: up three per cent to $506,000
- Telkwa: up three per cent to $434,000
“Arrival in the mail of 2025 Assessment Notices might be delayed due to ongoing Canada Post backlogs, but 2025 values are readily available at bcassessment.ca, using our online property search service,” said Deputy Assessor Teria Penner.
Anyone who disagrees with the value of their home or property can reach out to a representative online.
Strata homes in Smithers, like townhouses or condos, saw a nine per cent increase to $408,000 in value.
The highest valued property in the region is 5040 Six Mile Rd in Hazelton at $2,201,000.
