Smithers RCMP located and arrested Kenneth Gonu during patrols in the downtown area.
Gonu was wanted by police for several offences, including break and enter, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, and theft under $5,000.
“We have prioritized downtown patrols to address safety concerns and ensure a visible police presence in the area,” said Staff Seargeant Mark Smaill.
“Community members may notice increased patrols as part of our efforts to enhance public safety.”
Mounties confirmed in a release that proactive steps to ensure the safety of residents and businesses remain ongoing.
